Abstract

Introduction: Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity is a malignant epithelial tumor of unknown etiology, but that would be related to chemical, physical, biological and genetic factors whose representativeness worldwide and in America has considerably increased.

Objective: To describe a case with squamous cell carcinoma of the cheek.

Clinical case: This is case of a 78-year-old female patient, with history of being a persistent smoker, who had a lesion on the left cheek accompanied by pain and bleeding of approximately 6 months of evolution. On physical examination, an exophytic, ulcerated lesion is found, with necrosis areas.
