Keywords:
reconstruction of the pinna, partial traumatic atrial loss, avulsion of the pinna.Abstract
Introduction: Due to its anatomical situation, the ear pavilion is susceptible to a series of traumatic and pathological injuries, so its reconstruction is a real challenge for the surgeon in charge of maintaining symmetry with the contralateral pavilion as its complex structure.
Objective: To present a case of partial reconstruction of the auricle due to blunt traumatic injury.
Methods: Articles in Cumed, Lilacs, Medline, PubMed, Researchgate Publication (in English and Spanish) are reviewed and selected.
Clinical case: Patient male, treated at the emergency room of the "General Calixto García" University Hospital in September 2021, with loss of the helical edge, after a fight, suffering blunt trauma with an avulsive injury to the auricle, on which reconstruction was performed; a versatile and simple technique that always requires compliance with all the requirements of asepsis, adequate suture and anatomical repair to expect good postoperative and aesthetic results for the patient.
Conclusions: The importance of early care and in conditions of asepsis and antisepsis, with surgical technique according to the Weerda classification to achieve aesthetic results without complications, should be highlighted.
