Abstract

Introduction: Laryngeal cancer has become the most common cancer of the head and neck, with a high incidence and mortality. It is the most frequent cancer in Otorhinolaryngology.

Objective: To present an Imaging system based on a case report with a laryngeal tumor.

Case presentation: White male patient, 59 years old, smoker, with a history of grade II B arterial hypertension, controlled with antihypertensive medications; who came to the consultation due to discomfort when swallowing food (first solids and then liquids), and now notices changes in his voice. He is diagnosed with laryngeal cancer.

Results: Diagnostic planning, based on the performance of different imaging studies, allowed a better diagnostic approach to the nosological disease. The result of laryngeal tumor was confirmed by the pathological study.

Conclusions: The imaging evaluation, based on the proposed diagnostic system, allowed a better approach to the definitive diagnosis, being able to use different techniques (simplest to the most complex), which provided an approach to the definitive diagnosis of the laryngeal tumor.
